For auction housesAbout AuctionWatchBot

AuctionWatchBot is the crawler behind Auction Watch. It reads public catalogue pages so that buyers can find lots inside the M25, and it sends every one of them back to the auctioneer's own listing.

What it does

  • It visits each catalogue once every 48 hours, with a pause of at least 1.5 seconds between requests, or longer where your robots.txt asks for it.
  • It reads the public lot list (and the public lot page where the list gives no address): address, guide price, lot number, sale date, tenure and the description line. It does not log in, download legal packs or copy photographs.
  • It obeys robots.txt. If a page or an API is disallowed, it is not requested.
  • It identifies itself as AuctionWatchBot/1.0 and links to this page.

Where it visits

Allsop, Savills, Auction House London, McHugh & Co, BidX1, Clive Emson.
